Communication with Parents

This school believes that parents should enjoy complete and satisfactory communication with the school with regards to their child’s academic progress and social development. This is achieved in the following manner:

  • by the child's school journal - all notes recorded in the journal are seen by teachers every day.
  • by telephone - parents are welcome to call the school and to speak to the Head Teacher or organise a convenient time to speak to their child's teacher.
  • by meeting – staff are available every day by appointment. Formal meetings may be organised at short notice to discuss any points relating to their child's learning and development.
  • school reports - a summary report at the end of the Autumn Term with the NFER results and a full school report at the end of the academic year.
  • parents' evenings - in the Autumn Term and in the Summer Term.
  • email communication system - the school uses Parentmail to send all letters by email. This has proven to be a very efficient and effective way of communicating with parents.

The rationale behind our system of communication is that parents have the right to full information concerning their child’s performance and development. At all times we should justify the confidence parents have placed in us by sending their child to Heath House.
